Kimi & Ethan
SUMMER WEDDING AT BAYLEY BARN IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
Kimi and Ethan got married in the place that raised them: Northern California. We had met up in California the summer prior for their engagement session and spent the afternoon driving around the corners of Norcal that they love: their favorite swimming hole, their hometown of Cool, CA, and one of the cutest In-N-Outs Iβve ever seen.
Before their engagement session, I hadnβt spent too much time exploring the area northeast of Sacramento, and I quickly fell in love with the rolling hills, piney woods, and the countless swimming spots along the North Fork American River. The whole area has a warm, friendly feel to itβwhich matches K & Mβs personalities perfectly.
Kimi and Ethan had originally planned to get married in Colorado β a location that would be more central for their guests and family. However, as their date drew closer they felt the call to switch gears and move the party to the place where they fell in love: Norcal. They chose a gorgeous and historic venue tucked in the hills: the Bayley Barn in Pilot Hill, California.
The inspiration for their NorCal Wedding
From Kimi: βThe Bayley Barn is 5 minutes down the road from where I grew up in the small, one-stoplight-town of Cool :) Ethan and I have such a special connection to Cool and the towns surrounding it. My childhood home is 5 minutes up the road and I feel such a connection to this little community. I grew up hiking the trails in Cool with my family and our family dogs throughout the years, and I was born at the small community hospital just down the road in Placerville. This community shaped me into who I am. Ethan grew up in Folsom, which is situated just south of Cool, connected by a very curvy road called Salmon Falls. Ethan has raced with his friends up and down Salmon Falls road in their cars countless times, and he used to drive that road allllll the time in high school to come over to my house to spend time with me and try to win me over :) Our favorite river spot is just down the road, where we took our engagement pictures, and spent countless hours in the sun. When we decided to get married in California instead of Colorado, I quickly realized how badly I wanted our wedding to be in a place that we both feel connected to. This barn has been there for years, we've driven by it countless times βeven had school functions thereβso we both never would have imagined that all these years later, this is where we would be getting married. But it feels so so perfect.β
Since the Bayley Barn doesnβt have a specific getting ready space, Kimi and Ethan booked Airbnbs to get ready at with their wedding party and family. I met Kimi at her getting ready locationβ a gorgeous house with lots of natural light, backed right up against an equestrian trail!
Muse Floral Co. created a stunning bouquet for Kimi and I had so much fun finding ways to incorporate the unique florals into the flat lay and detail shots.
Kimi + Ethanβs NorCal wedding was filled with so many intentional details, from the venue they chose to their wedding party and guestβs outfits, to the sweet gifts and letters they wrote for eachother and their loved ones. It was such an honor to witness this day and get to capture all of the warmth and joy that it held.
Congrats K & M xx

A cozy two-day elopement on the West Coast. We started our adventure together in the dreamy mountain town of Mount Shasta before making our way north on Highway 101 to Brookings, Oregon. From there, we ventured out to redwood forests and rocky coves along iconic stretches of Oregon and California.
