Top 10 Wedding Gifts for the Outdoorsy Couple

Gift Ideas for your Outdoorsy Pal

Is your best friend eloping? Maybe your sister is opting for a ceremony in the mountains instead of the city? If you’re trying to buy a gift for a couple whose priority is spending time outdoors, you may want to get them a wedding gift that allows them to enjoy more adventures! But, let’s face it - buying wedding gifts for the outdoorsy couple might not be the easiest thing. There are SO many options and a lot of “will I ever really use that?” kind of products. That’s why I wanted to create a list of my top 10 recommendations for wedding gifts for the outdoorsy couple! Whether you’re on the hunt for a gift or looking for things to put on your own registry, you can find some inspiration in these 10 outdoor adventure gifts:

1. Rumpl Packable Blanket

Rumpl Packable Blanket for Camping

I know this is a blanket, but it’s honestly pretty sweet. The Rumpl Packable Blanket isn’t just another blanket. It’s a “sleeping bag blanket”, so it's perfect for snuggling up on camping trips, as well as backyard hangs. These blankets are ultra-durable and also ultra cozy. Even better, they’re made from recycled materials and are weather resistant. I’ve used mine as a picnic blanket at the Bonneville Salt Flats and as a sleeping bag while car camping in the Grand Tetons!

Because they are filled with down, these blankets are actually pretty warm. And since they are so packable, they are pretty versatile— you can use them for stargazing, trips to the river, outdoor fire pit chill nights, etc. The list goes on and on.

The Rumpl Packable Blanket starts at $99.

2. Topo Map of their favorite National Park

This one is pretty cool and something I’ve even done as a client gift in the past. Most adventurous couples love National Parks, and chances are they’ve visited more than one. They might even be one of those couples who dream of visiting all of the National Parks.

I have topo maps on this list of top wedding gifts because I know a lot of couples who have gotten engaged at National Parks—so why not give them a map where they can memorialize where they got engaged?

You can find beautiful topo maps all over the internet, but I recommend looking on Etsy; they have some seriously neat options.

Topo maps have a wide price range but expect to pay about $25-50 for a map and frame.

3. Polaroid Instax Wide 300 + Film

My film of choice is the Instax Monochrome Black and White film.

My film of choice is the Instax Monochrome Black and White film.

A photographer recommending a camera? Groundbreaking. I know this seems a little biased, but it’s one of the best! This polaroid camera is perfect for taking on both big and small adventures, or even for just around the house.

While there are SO many polaroid cameras on the market, my longtime favorite is the Polaroid Instax Wide 300. It’s bigger than the Polaroid Instax Mini, which means it can fit more people in the frame and documents moments in greater detail. It’s a great camera for capturing memories on road trips, camping trips, or just every daylife. If you gift this, don’t forget to include the film! They can snap some photos as they’re unwrapping all of their other presents, too.

The Polaroid Instax Wide 300 is $99 and film is $20 for a two-pack.

4. MPOWERD Luci Solar String Lights + Charger

Solar powered lights are great for car camping or even backcountry trips and can add some romance to your tent set up.

If you’re in the market for the best, most versatile outdoor solar string lights—look no further! The MPOWERD Luci Solar String lights are amazing! They can charge via the solar or USB and the charge lasts for a whole weekend camping trip. These made it to the top wedding gifts list because they would make camping trips extra fun (and cozy).

Your favorite outdoorsy couple will get over 20 hours of light on a single charge. Great for outdoor camping picnics as well as inside of a tent for late night games of Uno. These lights also have the capability to charge phones when you’re out in the wild.

The MPOWERD Luci Solar String Lights are $40.

5. AeroPress Go Coffee Travel Coffee Press

My Aeropress is my go-to method of coffee-making on my camping trips. And if you want to be cool like Lana & Mitch (pictured above) you can drink your camp coffee out of gorgeous glass goblets!

My Aeropress is my go-to method of coffee-making on my camping trips. And if you want to be cool like Lana & Mitch (pictured above) you can drink your camp coffee out of gorgeous glass goblets!

I know I have some coffee lovers here (aka me over here raising my hand). This portable coffee press can provide you with delicious coffee anywhere, anytime. This top wedding gift can brew American, espresso, or cold brew coffees.

Easy to bring along, with a smooth taste. Picky coffee drinkers will appreciate the quality coffee this lightweight piece of gear can make. It makes 1-3 cups of coffee at a time, and you could even include some of the couple’s favorite ground coffee with this wedding gift.

The AeroPress Go Coffee Travel Coffee Press retails for about $32.

6. Mountain Summit Gear Roll Top Kitchen

Now, this gift is COOL. Picture cooking while on a car camping adventure but *add a little spice*. This cooking station is lightweight, and has plenty of room for cooking, all while in the middle of nowhere. It’s like a mini luxury travel kitchen… okay well it literally is. It even folds up nicely for easy storage.

So if you’re an adventurous couple wanting to know what to add to your registry, or looking to buy for an adventurous couple, this is a winner. In addition to using it to prep and prepare food, the Mountain Summit Gear Roll Top Kitchen also can serve as a table.

This camp kitchen gift goes for $99.

7. Jetboil Flash Cooking System

Wind-resistant and perfect for couples, the Jetboil Flash Cooking System is one of the top pieces of gear for cooking on camping trips!

Wind-resistant and perfect for couples, the Jetboil Flash Cooking System is one of the top pieces of gear for cooking on camping trips!

So what is the Jetboil Flash Cooking System you ask? It’s a compact camp stove for cooking in the backcountry. It can be used when backpacking or during a car adventure. It could be a great addition to my last top wedding gift selection, the Mountain Summit Gear Roll Top Kitchen. I actually got my Jetboil as a gift from my wedding and it was one of my favorite gifts we received!

The Jetboil system can boil 16oz. of water in 100 seconds flat. That’s just over a minute and a half! If you ask me, that’s pretty fast. Faster than my range at home.

The Jetboil Flash Cooking System will run about $110

8. Goal Zero Flip 36 Power Bank

Having a good portable power bank is great for charging your phone on camping trips or even in remote locations that sometimes lose electricity, such as Big Bend National Park.

Ever been on the go and need to charge your device? This made it to the top wedding gifts list because not only can it charge up your phone, it can charge any USB device. This includes cameras, phones, and a GPS.

The power bank is able to charge devices 2-3 times before needing a charge itself. So it is best for shorter adventures (like roadtrips or weekend excursions), but still very impressive.

I found this power bank for as low as $35.

9. Adventure First Aid Kit

Every adventurer needs a first aid kit. It’s an essential piece of gear, but it can be a little pricey and hard to choose a good one! This can be carried in the car, in a backpack, or even be used for the house. As a certified Wilderness First Responder, it was really important for me to find a super solid first aid kit that had all the things I could potentially need while in the backcountry (or long road trips!). While expensive, the My Medic first aid kit really does have it all—from bandaid / med pouches that easily separate and can be thrown in a day pack, to clips and straps for attaching the kit to your bike. I’ve taken my kit bikepacking the White Rim of Utah, on road trips all across Texas, and backpacking in Colorado!

I know this kit may be a bit much for someone looking to get their first kit, so if you’re wanting something a little more lowkey, REI sells a great starter first aid kit for under $30. You can snag it here: REI First Aid Kit.

The MyMedic First Aid Kit starts at $120.

10. Airbnb Gift Card

Looking for a unique stay near Austin, Texas? Check out the Hobbit’s Nest.

I truly saved the best for last! It’s my favorite top wedding gift on this list. I love the idea of gifting an Airbnb gift card because it’s a gift that is adventurous in itself. Instead of gifting an item, you can gift memories and a new adventure. What is more perfect for an outdoorsy couple?

They can explore new towns, cities, or use when they visit their favorite National Park— and you’ll be to thank for their getaway.

When it comes to pricing, you can choose exactly how much you’d like to put on the Airbnb gift card.
